Technical Challenges
This hermetic connector pin is a metal component used in connectors that provide an electrical connection while ensuring a perfect seal against water, moisture, gases, or other external contaminants. This type of pin is often used in demanding environments such as aerospace, automotive, or industrial applications. The FeNi alloy is known for its unique properties, including a very low thermal expansion coefficient, which makes it compatible with glass or ceramic. This allows the pins to be hermetically sealed in glass or ceramic connectors without causing cracks due to thermal expansion differences. For large-scale production of this part, several processes are implemented. Starting from a wire coil, the general shape is preformed on a multi-slide machine, which performs straightening, cutting, and stamping operations. Then, another process is used for punching. Finally, a tribofinishing operation is carried out to meet the specifications.
